Michael Rodgers presents this lecture about Long Island’s iconic thoroughbred horse racing facility Belmont Park has a storied past. The sweeping turns of its 1 ½ mile racetrack and the long homestretch has challenged the greatest Triple Crown thoroughbreds such as Secretariat, Seattle Slew and American Pharaoh.   The prestigious Belmont Stakes  race is the true “Test of the Champion” and the final jewel of racing's Triple Crown with races run at the Preakness and the Kentucky Derby.
