Event Details
Students will channel their inner adventurer while pretending to be cast away on a faraway island, with only clay to create the tools, food, and shelter needed for exploration and survival. Each student will receive 2 pounds of plain and multi-colored porcelain to create items while learning sculpting, molding, and hand-building techniques. We invite students to think dynamically about their favorite adventuring contraptions and companions and how they can be recreated in clay form. All clay art projects will be glaze-fired with a clear glaze and returned to the library for pickup within three to four weeks. Bring a water bottle and sunblock! *This program will be held in the Pocket Park under the tent.
